Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha has met with the CEO of Amazon AWS Cloud, Matt Garman, and a number of the company’s senior leaders to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two sides.

The meeting took place during Al-Sawaha’s visit to the US, the Saudi Press Agency reported Tuesday.

The two sides discussed the company’s investments in high-capacity cloud areas, focusing on ways to support the growth of the digital economy in the Kingdom and the whole region.

Such meetings are part of ongoing efforts to enhance the digital infrastructure in the Kingdom and provide more investment and technological opportunities that contribute to driving the development of the digital economy and innovation in the region.

OpenAI Secures $4 bln Credit Facility

OpenAI said on Thursday it has secured a new $4 billion credit facility, in addition to the $6.6 billion investment the AI startup unveiled on Wednesday.

The revolving credit facility that is undrawn at closing has been established with JPMorgan Chase, Citi, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Santander, Wells Fargo, SMBC, UBS and HSBC, Reuters reported.

The company now has access to over $10 billion in liquidity, OpenAI said in a blog post.
