Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture and Science (NCECS), will host the work of the 44th session of the Executive Council of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), which will be held in Jeddah from 16 to 18 January, and will be attended by 54 member states of the organization.
The hosted session comes in light of the sponsorship and support provided to the education, culture and science sectors by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and the Crown Prince, and under the directives of Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the NCECS.
The session will tackle ICESCO's plans and activities and define actions and strategies.
The council concludes with a final report that outlines future guidelines in terms of plans and budgets, and the Executive Council's outcomes approved during the ICESCO's General Conference meeting, which is the first legislative authority in ICESCO that emerged from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
It is concerned with developing the sectors of education, scientific research, technology, humanities, social sciences, and cultural communication within the organization’s general strategy that aims to accomplish sustainable growth in all sectors of all Islamic countries.
