The Film Commission announced its participation in the 81st Venice International Film Festival, set to take place from August 28 to September 7, 2024, in Venice, Italy.

The festival is part of the Venice Biennale, and is recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
Through this participation, the Film Commission aims to establish Saudi Arabia as a global cinema hub, strengthen international relations, highlight the richness of Saudi culture and cinema, and enhance the presence of the Saudi film sector on the global stage. Additionally, the Commission seeks to showcase its key archival efforts and emphasize the importance of the National Film Archive, SPA reported.
The Commission’s participation in the festival includes organizing a roundtable event titled 'Challenges Facing Modern and Emerging Archives in Particular.'

The Commission’s archival management team will engage in an enriching discussion on these challenges, with the presence of partners from the Saudi film sector, to promote cultural dialogue and knowledge exchange.
