The eighth Joint Archaeological Exhibition of the Arab Gulf States has opened at the National Museum in Riyadh.
The exhibition, which runs till December 30, traces the history of humankind in the region across successive periods, from the Stone Age and the discovery of metals in the third millennium BC up to the pre-Islamic era and the region's pivotal role in the Islamic world.
It features a wide array of artifacts, including stone tools, pottery, inscriptions, art, architecture, and jewelry.
Organized by the Heritage Commission, in cooperation with the National Museum and the Museums Commission and in strategic partnership with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the exhibition aims to enhance the region's cultural identity regionally and internationally and support joint Gulf action.
By hosting this exhibition, the Kingdom underscores its leading role in strengthening cooperation in heritage and antiquities, aligning with Vision 2030 goals.
