The Royal Commission for AlUla, through the AlUla Languages Institute, is advancing its Ancient Languages Revival Program, a dedicated initiative to preserve and promote the region’s profound linguistic history.
By bridging the gap between antiquity and the present, the program highlights AlUla’s role as a historic crossroads of civilizations, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The curriculum offers specialized courses in several ancient languages historically recorded in the region, including Aramaic, Thamudic, Dadanite, Lihyanite, and Nabataean, SPA said.
A highlight of the program is the "origins of writing" course, which provides a fascinating look at the evolution of human expression from early symbols to sophisticated scripts, the news agency added.
