The Libyan parliament postponed on Monday a vote over the constitutional referendum to Tuesday, following altercations by protesters who briefly shut down the building.
In a scene that has been repeated several times at parliament, protesters hindered the entrance of some deputies to the building.
Parliament spokesman Abdullah Belhiq said the Speaker Aqilah Saleh suspended the session, adding that they will hold another session Tuesday.
Belhiq said 93 members attended the session and discussed the draft law, which divides the Libyan electoral process to three polling centers.
Separately, United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) Stephanie Williams met in Tripoli Monday with the President of the Libyan Audit Bureau Khaled Shokshok to discuss current economic issues and anticipated reforms.
Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj meanwhile announced the dismissal of Defense Minister Mahdi al-Barghathi, revealed a message leaked by his bureau to the relevant parties.
The Sarraj government suspended Barghathi and referred him to investigations last May, in wake of an attack against Libyan National Army forces in Brak base that left around 140 of civilians and militants dead.
Over the weekend, LNA spokesman Ahmed al-Mesmari described Barghathi as an officer working for terrorist groups.
