The Merit cultural magazine issued by the Merit publishing house in Cairo, has discussed the "Critical Thinking in Islamic Intellect" in a special section in its October issue.
The section introduces six articles: "Critical tendency of Al-Ghazali," by Dr. Ahmed Saleh Mohamed al-Sayed; "Morals of critical thinking in the Islamic Philosophy," by Dr. Maher Abdul Mohsen; "Critical thinking in the Islamic political intellect" by Dr. Samia Salam; "Philosophy's Innocence from Al-Ghazali's accusations" by Dr. Ghaydan Al-Sayed Ali; and "How the Arabic political intellect consumed itself" by writer Issam al-Zuhairi.
The "Critical Views" part features six articles while the poetry section has 11 poems by Egyptian and Arab poets including Moussa Hawamde (Jordan), Ahmad al-Marikhi (Egypt), Nassif al-Nasseri and Nemr al-Saadi (Palestine).
The Story section highlights stories from Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, and Syria.
The magazine also made a section to feature three translated works each by Dr. Adel Dargham, Abdul Latif Shahid (from Spain) and Nouzad Jaadan (from Syria) and the latter translated a collection of Punjabi poems written by Shiv Kumar Batalvi and Avtar Singh Sandhu.
In the "Cultures and Arts" section people can read an interview by Samir Darwish with Critic Dr. Mohamed Abdul Baset Eid.
The editorial board of the magazine includes: Editor-in-chief Samir Darwish, vice editor-in-chief Samih Naeb, editor secretary Sara al-Iskafi, executive director Islam Yunes, graphic designer Ahmed al-Labbad.
