Saudi Arabia Reports 1,968 New Virus Cases

Saudi Arabia announced 1,968 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Sunday, bringing the Kingdom’s total to 266,941.

Of the new cases, 11 percent were recorded in Hufof with the city reporting 208 cases. Taif reported 195 cases, Riyadh 126, Makkah 109 and Buraidah 77.

The total number of recoveries reached 220,323 after 2,541 more patients recovered from the COVID-19 disease, the Saudi Health Ministry said.

It also said that 30 more patients died from complications caused by the virus, which brought the death toll to 2,733.

Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz received in Riyadh on Thursday Kazakhstan’s Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance security cooperation between the two ministries, in addition to reviewing a number of topics of mutual interest.

The Saudi leadership congratulated Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on his country's National Day, the Saudi Press agency reported on Thursday. 

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, sent separate cables to the Emir wishing him continued good health and happiness, and the government and people of Qatar steady progress and prosperity. 

The Saudi leadership also congratulated President of Niger Abdourahamane Tchiani on Republic Day.
