The Saudi government underscored on Tuesday its rejection of the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Riyadh.
The cabinet reiterated the Kingdom’s call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and allowing the entry of aid to the people in need. It also renewed its rejection of the forced displacement of the Palestinian people.
It called for preparing the ground for a return to stability and achieving sustainable and lasting peace.
The ministers reviewed the various meetings and talks held between senior Saudi officials and their counterparts from several countries over the past week that are aimed at bolstering cooperation and coordination.
The ministers reviewed the outcomes of Saudi Arabia’s participation at the Non-Aligned Movement, Group of 77 and China, and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) summits that were held in Uganda last week.
The participation stems from the Kingdom’s pivotal global political and economic roles and keenness on boosting cooperation to consolidate security, stability and development in the region and world.
The cabinet also reviewed the outcomes of Saudi Arabia’s participation at the World Economic Forum in Davos last week and the announcement that it will host a special WEF summit in April.
The meeting, scheduled to take place from April 28-29, will focus on global collaboration, growth and energy.
