Saudi Arabia’s Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) is participating in the International Restoration Week, organized by the Ministry of Culture’s Heritage Commission at the JAX District in Diriyah, Riyadh, from October 1 to 5.
The event gathers leading heritage specialists, academic institutions, students, and visitors from within the Kingdom and abroad.
The RCU's participation seeks to showcase the rich cultural and historical legacy of AlUla, while highlighting restoration and preservation projects implemented in line with international best practices. This contribution aims to raise public awareness of the importance of safeguarding heritage and to reinforce AlUla's role as a global open-air laboratory for research, discovery, and preservation.
The RCU pavilion presents interactive displays of AlUla's most significant archaeological sites, alongside ongoing restoration initiatives and visual storytelling content underlining its leadership in the field.
The RCU is also engaging in specialist panel sessions, including one entitled “Sustainable Methodologies for Restoration,” with international experts contributing to the exchange of knowledge and the advancement of collaboration and innovation.
AlUla's presence at this prominent international forum reaffirms the RCU's commitment to supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by positioning heritage as a cornerstone of sustainable development and boosting the Kingdom’s position as an influential platform in cultural heritage preservation regionally and globally.
