Saudi Arabia's city of Jeddah will host the fourth edition of the Innovation Driven Water Sustainability Conference (IDWS2025), organized by the Saudi Water Authority (SWA) from December 8 to 10, 2025, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

The event will bring together global experts, innovators, and policymakers to discuss cutting-edge solutions and strategies for sustainable water management.

It will feature over 169 speakers and is expected to draw around 7,300 participants from 133 countries, including the United States, China, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Brazil, Portugal, Italy, and several Gulf and Arab nations, marking the largest international gathering of water innovation leaders.

SWA President Eng. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Abdulkarim stated that the IDWS 2025 conference will host leaders from governments, companies, universities, and research centers, making it an international platform for exchanging expertise and shaping a sustainable water future.

The conference aims to serve as a leading global platform for turning innovations into practical solutions by fostering active partnerships between international entities, entrepreneurs, and investors.

It is expected to feature numerous strategic partnerships and agreements with a market value exceeding SAR200 million.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
